External Bio-mechanical Filters - MAN Biological Pond Filters

Simplistic upflow design allows use of plant material for consumption of nitrates. Pond water enters the bottom of housing through bulkhead fitting (supplied) rising through lava rock or bio-balls (not included). The grate above settlement chamber supports the media. Bacteria living on the media convert ammonia and nitrites to harmless nitrates. Plants in the top are optional but highly recommended because they will consume the nutrients which cause green water.
